What made you choose to train as an MT/HDS?

Working outside the home while raising a family creates challenges. Working outside of the home while raising a family is challenging, and the MT/HDS path offers more flexibility. I knew this is the career for me. I get to continue my passion for working in Healthcare, all while raising my family. I get to have the best of both worlds.

What are your personal and professional goals as you move toward a new career?

My personal and professional goals as I move into my new career are to be more present with my family and continue to grow and be the best I can be as an MT/HDS.

What made you choose to study/work from home?

Having the flexibility of learning online, made the decision of studying from home the best option.

What made you choose CanScribe?

I chose CanScribe for its flexibility, support and insight from instructors and online learning platform. They made the process of going back to school a breeze.

What are your biggest motivators in finding a new career?

My biggest motivator in finding a new career is my family. Being able to work from home helps her keep a schedule that lets her see her kids grow.

What advice would you give to new students?

The advice I would give new students is don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. It is overwhelming and rewarding all at the same time learning something new, but you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish with self-belief, hard work and determination.

This is the third CanScribe student announced as the Rising Star Award winner in the last four years.

CanScribe has been offering Medical Transcription / Healthcare Documentation (MT/HDS) training since 2003. With two School of Excellence Awards and multiple award-winning staff and students, CanScribe offers MT/HDS training and supports healthcare documentation course students.
