We Built a College. You Can Use It.
Most people who want to start a career college do not want to spend the first two years writing courses and wiring up software. They want students enrolled in programs that work.
CanScribe has been delivering online career training since 2003. The curriculum, the platform, the CRM, the intake forms, and the admissions and student support systems all exist and all run daily. Starting a career college with us means taking that stack, putting your name on it, and opening.
The honest version
What Building a Career College Actually Takes
The business plan for a new college is usually short. The build is not. Before a single student pays tuition, someone has to solve every one of these, and most of them are invisible until you are in the middle of them.
- Curriculum written by subject matter experts, then taught, marked, and revised before you know if it works
- Assessments that measure something real and survive a regulator reading them
- A learning platform selected, configured, and tested with actual learners in it
- A CRM wired to the enquiry, application, and follow-up sequences that decide whether leads convert
- Application and intake forms that collect what admissions and the regulator both need
- A website that explains programs clearly enough to sell them
- Policies for admissions, refunds, grading, dispute resolution, and student records
- An admissions and support model that keeps enrolled students from quietly disappearing
Every one of those already exists here and has been running for two decades. Starting a career college through CanScribe is not a shortcut around the work. It is a way of not paying for the work twice.
The package
What Is Included When You Start a Career College
Scope is set per launch. These are the pieces available, and most launches take all of them.
Curriculum
The catalogue you launch with, white labelled to your name.
- Up to 400 courses across five faculties
- 18 certificate and diploma programs
- Hundreds of courses never listed publicly
- Launch with a few programs or the lot
Learning management system
A configured platform rather than a licence key and a manual.
- Set up for enrolment and progress tracking
- Assessment and grading already wired in
- Built for self-paced online delivery
- Your branding across the learner experience
CRM and campaigns
The part most new colleges underestimate and lose money on.
- Pre-built email campaigns
- Follow-up automation for enquiries
- Lead tracking from first contact to enrolment
- Sequences already tested against real enquiry volume
Application and intake
The forms and flow that turn an interested person into a student.
- Student application forms
- Intake and onboarding steps
- Data collection built around admissions needs
- Connected to the CRM rather than bolted on
Website
A launch-ready site, not a template you finish yourself.
- Program pages for what you are offering
- Enquiry forms connected to the CRM
- Structured for search from the start
- Yours to run and extend afterwards
Branding
Available if you do not already have an identity to apply.
- Name and visual identity development
- Applied across site, platform, and certificates
- Consistent learner-facing presentation
- Skip it entirely if you already have a brand
We do not publish a price for this, because a two program launch and a full catalogue launch are not the same product. Pricing is quoted against a written scope after the first conversation.
Read this part carefully
Regulation, Designation, and What We Cannot Do for You
CanScribe is designated through the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit in British Columbia. That designation belongs to CanScribe. It does not transfer to a new school, and no one can sell it to you.
What does transfer is everything underneath it. Programs built to a regulator's expectations, documented hours and learning outcomes, assessment structures, and the policy set that a designation application asks you to produce. Applicants routinely stall at exactly that documentation stage, and launching with programs already built in that shape is a material head start.
Your obligations depend on where you operate and what you sell. Rules differ by province and by country, and they turn on things like tuition level, program length, and whether you market career training. Confirm your own position with the regulator that governs you, and get legal advice on the structure before you sign anything. We will tell you what we know about the BC framework, but we are not your lawyer or your regulator. Full detail on the BC rules is at the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit.
Process
How a Launch Works
Six stages. Your regulatory application, if you need one, runs alongside the build rather than after it.
Discovery call
What you want to build, who you intend to teach, what you already have, and where you are located. This is also where we say so if the plan does not hold together.
Scope and quote
Which programs you launch with, which systems you take, what branding is involved, what support continues afterwards, and what it costs. In writing.
Brand and curriculum
Your identity is developed or applied, and the curriculum you selected is white labelled to it, including certificates and learner-facing materials.
Systems configuration
Learning platform, CRM, email campaigns, application and intake forms, and the website are configured and connected to each other under your brand.
Compliance preparation
Program documentation, hours, outcomes, and policy material are assembled in the form a regulator expects, so your own application is not starting from a blank page.
Launch and support
You start enrolling. We stay reachable for the operational questions that only appear once real students are moving through the system.

Fit
Who Should Start a Career College This Way
This suits people who can sell and operate but do not want to build. It does not suit everyone, and it is cheaper to find that out on a phone call than after a contract.
This is a strong fit if you are
- An entrepreneur who wants to own a training business without a two year build ahead of you
- An industry professional with a network and credibility in a field, but no curriculum
- An existing business adding a training arm alongside what you already sell
- A First Nation, band, or community organization building training capacity under your own name
- An association or industry body that wants credentialed programs it controls
- Operating in a market CanScribe does not serve, geographically or by sector
This is probably the wrong fit if you
- Expect students to arrive because the school exists, with no plan for marketing or admissions
- Want a passive investment rather than a business to run
- Need a designation, accreditation, or credential to transfer to you along with the systems
- Already have curriculum and systems and only need content, in which case curriculum licensing is the cheaper conversation
- Only want to train your own staff, in which case employer training is the right fit
Questions
Start a Career College FAQ
Months rather than years, because the curriculum and systems already exist. The variables are on your side: business registration, financing, any regulatory application in your jurisdiction, branding decisions, and how much of the catalogue you launch with. We commit to a timeline in writing at the scope stage rather than publishing a number that would be wrong for most people.
It depends on how many programs you launch with, which systems you take, whether branding is included, and what ongoing support you want. We quote against a written scope after the first conversation. Budget separately for your own business setup, legal advice, regulatory fees, and marketing, none of which are ours to charge for.
No. Designation attaches to the institution that holds it and cannot be sold or assigned. What you get is programs already built and documented in the form a regulator expects, which is the part most applicants find hardest. Whether you need designation at all depends on your jurisdiction, your tuition level, and what you are marketing.
You launch under your own name, not the CanScribe name, and you run your own business with your own pricing, market, and students. The exact legal structure of the agreement is set out in the contract, and you should have your own lawyer read it before signing. Ask us for the agreement early rather than late.
No, and most people should not. Launching with two or three programs aimed at a market you understand is usually a better start than a catalogue of eighteen you cannot explain. You can add programs later without rebuilding what is already running.
Yes. Many people launch on licensed curriculum and add their own subject matter over time, particularly where they have industry expertise CanScribe does not. The platform holds both, and your students see one catalogue.
Territory, sector, and any exclusivity are questions for the agreement, and they are worth raising in the first conversation rather than the last. Tell us where you intend to operate and who you intend to teach, and we will be straight with you about how that sits against our own market.
No, but you do need to be prepared to run a business. The systems handle the mechanics of enrolment, delivery, and follow-up. They do not replace someone deciding what to charge, who to market to, and how to answer a student who is struggling. That part is yours.
Yes. Everything is delivered online, so location does not constrain the build. What varies is your regulatory position, since private training oversight differs by province and by country, and how much Canadian-specific content suits your learners. Some courses reference Canadian legislation directly, and we will flag those during scoping.
