CanScribe has launched a new medical transcription course. CanScribe aims to provide unmatched education with student and graduates support for life. This new update aims to continually improve its already unmatched Medical Transcription / Healthcare Documentation (MT/HDS) course. With input from industry partners and employers, such as AQuity, iMedX Australia, Keizer Solutions, and many more, CanScribe has made a multitude of changes to their MT/HDS program.
The healthcare documentation industry requires highly skilled and well-trained medical transcriptionists who understand that the work they perform has a direct impact on the quality of a patient’s healthcare. With this in mind, CanScribe continues to update its MT/HDS program to ensure that students are receiving the most practical and current training in the field. As an accredited school with AHDI (The Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity), the MT/HDS students who complete this program are entering into the field with the necessary training to meet the current demands and standards of the industry. It also means the employers who hire these graduates, are gaining skilled documentation specialists who have the practical experience necessary to create accurate medical records.
In the new medical transcription course, students have access to the most up-to-date medical terminology, including the removal of obsolete medications, and the addition of a pathology course. Over time, the protocols in many specialties are subject to revisions. Our students will benefit from the addition of new dictations that reflect many of these changes. In keeping up with current industry trends, we have adjusted the ratio of straight transcription to speech recognition in our dictation platform to reflect the increase in speech recognition software being used to capture patient information for the medical record. Other additions include a section on etiquette in the workplace.
We recognize that a vital component in success is bridging the gap between one’s academic education and the workforce. Through the new Program Expansion Package, students are provided with lifetime continued learning; new webinars are uploaded every month to help ensure graduates are up-to-date on everything MT/HDS. Through this expansion program, students also have extended access to Typsey, a premium educational application that further aids its users in developing speed and accuracy when typing.
We also recognize that success is determined not just by gaining income from a new career but also by how well an individual can manage that income responsibly; therefore, CanScribe has included a financial component to version 3 to help students create personal goals that can help them plan for financial stability in the future.
Upon successfully completing this new medical transcription course, students will have the confidence, experience, and skills necessary to positively impact the quality of patient care in the healthcare industry.
In summary, the new medical transcription course updates include:
These changes will help ensure students are learning on the most recent and up-to-date content available. Continuous updates such as this are why CanScribe recently won the School of Excellence Award from the AHDI.
CanScribe officially starts enrolling students into the new medical transcription course on August 2nd, 2021.
