What is CompTIA A+ training?
CompTIA A+ is the first IT certification a candidate should earn. It establishes the core knowledge required of any IT role and provides a springboard to entry-level IT jobs. A+ incorporates best practices in hands-on troubleshooting, ensuring candidates have practical computer problem-solving skills. Millions of CompTIA IS/ANSI-accredited exams have been delivered since January 1, 2011.
The program content will introduce the student to computer components, networking devices, software management and deployment, and more. The program will expose and support the student to an understanding and appreciation of IT environments. Consideration and study of time management skills and the importance of being a detail-oriented problem solver will be discussed.
The student will be able to explain the importance of maintaining records. This program will prepare students by educating them on IT problems. The course will also support the student in creating a cover letter, resume writing, and interview skills.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 diploma or be a mature student (aged 19 at the start of the course). A copy of the student’s high school diploma is required if they are under the age of 19. If an applicant is under 19, a parent or guardian must sign on behalf of the applicant.
A copy of a government-issued piece of photo identification, such as a driver’s license, passport or other, which shows the student's date of birth.
Distance Learning students must have a PC (Mac or Windows-based) with minimum computer requirements and Internet access (high speed is recommended) as highlighted under the Computer Requirements section.
If English is not the student’s native language, the student must provide confirmation that they have achieved the minimum test score
from one of the following:
- IELTS 6 or higher with no module less than 5.5
- TOEFL with a minimum score of 60
- 5 Star English with a minimum grade of 70%
We also recommend that you use the latest version of either Firefox or Chrome as your browser.
INTERNET SPEED
It is recommended that you have high-speed internet access. This is not a requirement to take the program, but if you are interested in working from home, all employers require high-speed Internet. This means you have a download speed of 15 megabits per second and an upload speed of 5 megabits per second.
The program is 197 hours long, however, you have 10 weeks to complete it. That is less than 20-hours per week if you take the program full-time.
Most graduates will see a starting hourly wage of between $25 and $33 per hour!

Students are able to purchase extensions gives them more time in their program. Extensions can be purchased at a rate of $150 for one month. Students can only purchase up to 2 months of additional time.

Many of our students have previous experience in several of the concepts taught in the program. Although you cannot skip any courses in the program, you are able to challenge any unit tests and exercises. Students are able to attempt exercises in the program multiple times.
