Deskercise for the Medical Transcriptionist

For Medical Transcriptionists, sitting for 6-8 hours is just an average day on the job. But did you know that sitting can be detrimental to your health? Studies show that the more hours that people spend sitting, the more likely they are to develop diabetes, heart disease, and other conditions. It’s also been realized that sitting can actually decrease your lifespan. For those of us require a computer to work, it’s important to ensure you are taking the right steps to avoid bone, joints, or muscle injury.

A standing desk is a great remedy for the “sitting disease.” Standing desks allow you to either sit or stand, taking strain away from your lower back. If you don’t already own a standing desk, you should strongly consider investing in one. You can also create your own (we’ve made our own DIY standing desk here at CanScribe).
