10 Minute Caramel Popcorn

Low on time, but in need of a new idea for a snack? Try this quick snack idea for the kids! Caramel popcorn is surprisingly easy to make and only requires four ingredients. It is always fun to make something new, especially when the “every day” snacks can get boring. It takes about 10 minutes to make and one bag of popcorn can last quite a while. The recipe includes:

  1. 2 cups of sugar
  2. 1/3 cup of melted butter
  3. 1 tsp of baking soda
  4. 1 bag of popcorn

2 cups of sugar will cover all of the popcorn with a thicker coating, if you want to make the coating thinner, try scaling the recipe down to:

  1. 1 1/3 cups of sugar
  2. 1/5 cups of butter
  3. 1stp of baking soda
  4. 1 bag of popcorn

If you use a popcorn cooker instead of just bagged popcorn, make about 13 cups of popcorn which is about 1/2 – 2/3 cups of un-popped kernels.

Never dip you finger in the caramel, it will be very hot. Be sure to let the popcorn cool for approximately 15 minutes. After the cooling period, break apart and serve! Store in a jar to keep fresh; place in small Ziploc bag for the kids to take to school and be the envy of all their friends.
