Colleen Gaudet, President & CEO

Colleen began her entrepreneurial career at the young age of 6, selling hockey programs for the Kelowna Buckeroos. After high school, she backpacked around Europe before attending Mount Royal College, SAIT and BCIT, where she completed her marketing studies. After working for several years and being mentored by some of the great creative minds in the advertising industry in Vancouver, BC, Colleen opened up and ran her own business consulting company.
The Medical Transcription industry was introduced to Colleen in 2000 and she went on to found CanScribe in 2002. Colleen loves to travel and immerse herself in new cultures. She is also very dedicated to volunteer work, sits on various sport and company boards and sponsors many not for profit businesses and orphanages throughout the world. Jo-Ann Clarke, CMT, Senior Academic Officer

Jo-Ann brings over three decades of MT experience to CanScribe, having worked as an MT, editor and supervisor at hospitals, clinics, private practices and MTSOs.
Prior to joining the CanScribe team, Jo-Ann developed curriculum for medical transcriptionists and allied healthcare workers. In addition to being an MT educator in both Canada and the US, Jo-Ann was a contractor for Stedman's Publishing, serving as "Dr. Stedman" for the "Ask Dr. Stedman" webpage. Samantha Carnegie, Director of Admissions and Student Services

Samantha Carnegie moved to British Columbia from Ontario in the year 2000. She has been working for CanScribe since April 2005. Her background is in sales and administration, although she is really a jack of all trades.
Talking about the CanScribe Medical Transcription training program to potential students is her passion. Many people call because they are attracted to working from home and when she assists them in making the decision to take our MT training program, she feels she is really helping someone.

Carolyn McEwen, Manager of Student Services

Carolyn is a native Calgarian who moved to British Columbia in 1998. Prior to joining CanScribe in 2007, she worked in Real Estate and Marketing. Her background also includes Travel & Tourism and she enjoys travel.

Jacky Hughes, Admissions

Jacky was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. After moving to Kelowna, she joined the CanScribe team in May 2008, bringing with her an extensive background in Customer Service and Sales.

Sarah Kennedy, Student Services

Sarah was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and immigrated directly to Kelowna at the age of 10 years old. She has worked for CanScribe Career College since January 2011. Prior to CanScribe, Sarah worked as a Weight Loss counselor, supporting individuals with their weight loss and health related goals.
Sarah’s hobbies include playing softball, camping, hiking and playing guitar! She thoroughly enjoys assisting CanScribe students, guiding them on their journey towards a successful career.

Linda Kovacs, Student Services

Linda was born and raised in Kelowna, BC. She is the newest team member at CanScribe Career College. She has over 15 years of experience in customer service and administration to assist students with a new career and life path choices.
During her spare time, Linda enjoys all that the Okanagan has to offer; golfing, gardening and the great outdoors. She loves learning new things, sharing her knowledge with others and inspiring individuals to achieve their full potential. She is looking forward to helping students get started and working closely with the rest of the CanScribe Career College Team.
Deb Albert, MT Instructor

Deb graduated from CanScribe with High Honors in 2006. Since graduating, Deb has been working as an MT for various accounts in Canada and the United States.
Deb enjoys mentoring students and draws on her previous QA and instructional experience to help guide students on their path to becoming successful working MTs.
Deb was born in New York and moved to Prince Edward Island at the age of 10, where she currently resides with her husband and dog, Buddy. They have 2 grown children and 3 beautiful grandchildren. Deb enjoys the outdoors, sports and traveling.
Susan Cunningham, MT Instructor

Prior to joining CanScribe in 2007 as a Quality-Assurance Editor for the Practicum and currently a CanScribe Instructor, Susan was employed in the healthcare industry for 20 years, working as a dental assistant/patient manager and medical transcriptionist.
A CanScribe graduate herself, Sue has first-hand knowledge of what it is like to progress through the course, and draws upon her experience to help students develop their skills and become the best medical transcriptionist possible.
Susan lives in Newfoundland and enjoys photography, nature, and escaping to the cabin whenever possible.
Lori Devaney, MT Instructor

Lori joined the CanScribe team in September of 2010. She has been in the transcription industry for 15 years as an MT, then on to platform training and developing training material focusing on production enhancement and ergonomic setup.
Lori spent 7 years in the telecommunications arena in customer service, training, and developing training programs.
Her passion is people in all walks of life, quilting in the winter, doing crafts, writing stories for children, reading, camping, and fishing.
Marcia Gordon, MT Instructor

Marcia began her career in 2003 after earning a place on the President's List for Academic Achievement in her MT program. Based in Iowa, she worked for several years at the renowned teaching hospital, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In addition, she moonlighted from home for online companies in Canada and the US.
In 2008 she earned her CMT, moved to Barbados, and discovered a love for teaching at the Medical Transcription Training Centre. In 2009, Marcia traded the beaches of Barbados for marriage in Manitoba. She is returning to the role of instructor by joining the CanScribe team and looks forward to imparting her knowledge to students in her always personable and detail-oriented way.
Marcia enjoys live theatre, slam poetry, music, and comedy, as well as movies, reading, hiking with her dog, and travel. She hopes to see as much as possible of this big, beautiful world.
Sandra Stevens, MT Instructor

Sandra joined the CanScribe team in June of 2010 as an Instructor and QA Editor. Her background includes work as a registered nurse for 10 years prior to taking and passing the CanScribe MT Course with High Honours! Sandra has worked both online and in the hospital setting as a Medical Transcriptionist and continues to work part-time as an MT for a Canadian Health Authority in the medical imaging department.
Sandra loves working one-on-one with students, sharing what she’s learned as an MT and supporting students on their path to becoming confident, successful Medical Transcriptionists.
Robin Reynolds, CMT, AHDI-F, MT Instructor

Robin joined the CanScribe team in June of 2010. She has been in the transcription industry for 12 years. She has worked for various companies in the home setting and has also worked in the office setting as well. Robin is very passionate about her career and wants to share what she has learned with students helping them to be the best they can be.
Robin lives in Axton, Virginia. She has one grown son. She is engaged and looking forward to a trip to Hawaii hopefully in the near future.
Robin enjoys reading, movies, knitting, cross-stitch, and gardening and would love to travel someday.
Gary Campbell, Director of Information Technology

With 20+ years experience in software development, enterprise networks, web services, design and managing the software life cycle, Gary joined the CanScribe team in July. Prior to CanScribe, Gary was the founder and CTO of a company nominated as best technology startup in 2006 by the British Columbia Technology Industry Association.
