Study Online? What should I expect? Is it hard or easy? What if I need help? How am I going to juggle a full-time job and school?
These are just some of the questions I asked myself when I was looking into CanScribe Career College. I took the time to get answers to my questions and am I ever glad that I did. CanScribe Career College Medical Transcriptionist training is one of the best things I have done for myself in a long time!
I will not say that it was easy to work full-time and go to school part-time. It took a lot of dedication and sticking to the program, helpful tips, and advice provided by the staff at CanScribe whom, I believe, are second to none.
I never felt like any of the questions I had were stupid ones, I was always treated with respect and encouraged to be my best. I developed a rapport with a select few that really helped to put me at ease, but all of the staff are knowledgeable and are there to help you be the best you can be. My first transcribed report, oh, how I remember it well. I did horrible on it (or so I thought).
Also, the sheer number of reports seemed very daunting when I saw how many I had to do. However, I cannot say this enough…they helped enormously!
When I had to mark my own, I do not know about anyone else, but I was really hard on myself. That is until it was all put in perspective by a certain counsellor who calculated what I actually was getting on the reports, as opposed to what I thought I was getting. Huge difference! Then, I started giving myself credit where credit was due. My advice: pat yourself on the back when you succeed and dust yourself off when you fall and get right back into the program.
I have been working as a consultant, transcribing for an online employer, for about a year and a half now part-time, and I still have a full-time job as well. I felt like I was back in school when I started, having to learn account specifics and new doctors. It got easier every week and did not take me long to feel comfortable, in fact, comfortable in a lot less time than I thought. I enjoy being a Medical Transcriptionist, it really gives me a sense of accomplishment.
I will sum up by saying, “I did this! I took initiative to better myself and used all the tools that were amply provided to me to succeed in my training and graduate with high honours”. Success in my current position is what comes from my hard work and dedication. You can do it too! Call CanScribe Career College. Check out their website and ask questions!
