Meet the Team!

Colleen Gaudet, CEO

After completing high school, Colleen backpacked around Europe & Egypt before attending Mount Royal College, SAIT and BCIT.  After working for several years in the ad agency biz, Colleen opened up and ran her own business consulting firm and then went on to found CanScribe in 2002.

Colleen is married with 2 children (who are now both taller than her) and enjoys time at home with her family, horses, dog and cat.  She loves to travel and is also very dedicated to volunteer work, sitting on various sport and company boards and sponsoring many not-for-profit businesses and orphanages throughout the world.


Kevin Blucke, President

Kevin graduated from Kwantlen University of Surrey, BC in 1994 from the Accounting program, with a minor in Computer Studies. He became a Certified Management Accountant in 1998 and a Certified Public Accountant in 2008.

Kevin has over fifteen years experience in accounting and management, recently as President of Summerhill Pyramid Winery. Previously at Dryco Building Supplies Inc. and Delroc Industries Ltd. (Langley, BC) as Chief Financial Officer. He has volunteered as Chair of the Certified Management Accountants of BC – Okanagan Chapter as well as a Director of the BC Restaurant and Food Service Association.

Kevin has been featured on the cover of Management Magazine and in national advertising campaigns for CMA Canada and the National Credit Union of Canada. In 2008, Kevin was awarded the CMA Brand Ambassador of the Year award as voted by his peers for his ethics, knowledge and the person most resembling the ideal CMA.

He currently volunteers as coach for a local indoor boys' soccer team.


Greg Myers, Senior Academic Officer

Greg is a certified ESL Instructor and has taught Academic English classes for over 15 years both in Canada and in Japan.  He was the Director of Studies at VanWest College in Kelowna and the Managing Director of the Vancouver campus.  Greg also worked at Pitman Business College as the Director of Studies.

You can regularly find Greg and his family hiking, camping and swimming in the summer months and looking for snow at their cabin in the mountains in the winter months..  He is an avid skier, certified ski instructor and race coach, and can often be found cheering on his 13 year old son who ski races.


Carolyn McEwen, Student Services Representative, Computer Instructor

Carolyn is a native Calgarian who moved to British Columbia in 1998.  Prior to joining CanScribe in 2007, she worked in Real Estate and Marketing. Her background also includes Travel & Tourism and she enjoys travel.

Kevin Gaudet, HR & Office Manager

Kevin was born in Blacks Harbour, NB (The sardine capital of the world) and slow moved across Canada on military bases. Kevin attended Mt Royal College in Calgary, and then moved to Vancouver to work as a Credit Manager for a large food supplier. In 2000, he moved to Kelowna with his wife and 2 children. Kevin worked in Kelowna as a maintenance technician for Shaw Communications before joining CanScribe.

In Kevin's spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering to help out his children's sports teams, traveling, golf, basketball and the great outdoors.


Jacky Tsui, Manager of Admissions and Student Services

Jacky was born and raised in Vancouver, BC.  After moving to Kelowna, she joined the CanScribe team in May 2008, bringing with her an extensive background in Customer Service and Sales.

Jim Williamson, Admissions Advisor

Born in Saskatoon, SK and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Jim earned the nickname "Man of 1000 Voices" during his years straddling the fields of entertainment, customer service, and communication.  He moved to Kelowna in 2009 with his wife, daughter and two little shelter dogs.

With a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Winnipeg and an Honours Diploma in Creative Communications from Red River College, he has been a writer-producer for the web, TV, and radio in both the public and private sectors, and toured in a musical comedy one-person stage show, playing up to 100 different characters.  He has also written fiction and been a cartoonist.

The common denominator in all Jim's work is his genuine curiosity about people.

Jordana Carter, Admissions Advisor

Jordana was born and raised in Kelowna, BC.  She moved to Alberta for a few years and then travelled Mexico for about 4 years.  She is now back in her hometown and grateful to be accepted into such a wonderful team.  She has just started out with CanScribe as an admissions advisor and is loving every minute of it!

Sarah Kennedy, Student Services Representative, Computer Instructor

Sarah was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and immigrated directly to Kelowna at the age of 10 years old.  She has worked for CanScribe Career College since January 2011.  Prior to CanScribe, Sarah worked as a Weight Loss counselor, supporting individuals with their weight loss and health related goals.

Sarah’s hobbies include playing softball, camping, hiking and playing guitar!  She thoroughly enjoys assisting CanScribe students, guiding them on their journey towards a successful career.

Deb Albert, MT Instructor

Deb graduated from the CanScribe MT Course with High Honors in 2006.  Since graduating, Deb has been working as an MT for various accounts in Canada and the United States.

Deb enjoys mentoring students and draws on her previous QA and instructional experience to help guide students on their path to becoming successful working MTs.

Deb was born in New York and moved to Prince Edward Island at the age of 10, where she currently resides with her husband and dog, Buddy.  They have 2 grown children and 3 beautiful grandchildren.  Deb enjoys the outdoors, sports and traveling.


Susan Cunningham, MT Instructor

Prior to joining CanScribe in 2007 as a Quality-Assurance Editor for the Practicum and currently a CanScribe Instructor, Susan was employed in the healthcare industry for 20 years working as a dental assistant/patient manager and medical transcriptionist.

A CanScribe graduate herself, Sue has first-hand knowledge of what it is like to progress through the course, and draws upon her experience to help students develop their skills and become the best medical transcriptionist possible.

Susan lives in Newfoundland and enjoys photography, nature, and escaping to the cabin whenever possible.


Lori Devaney, MT Instructor

Lori joined the CanScribe team in September of 2010.  She has been in the transcription industry for 15 years as an MT, then on to platform training and developing training material focusing on production enhancement and ergonomic setup.

Lori spent 7 years in the telecommunications arena in customer service, training, and developing training programs.

Her passion is people in all walks of life, quilting in the winter, doing crafts, writing stories for children, reading, camping, and fishing.


Janice Schmidtz, MT Instructor

Janice Schmidtz has been working as a medical transcriptionist since graduating with High Honors from CanScribe in 2006.  Janice has worked both on and off site, as an employee and an independent contractor.  In addition to being a wife and mother, Janice is a musician, writer, massage practitioner, and ordained metaphysical minister, having recently obtained her Masters degree in Metaphysical Science.

She plays the didgeridoo, djembe drum, and wooden flute, as well as singing in a classic rock band called Tin Can Jam.  She loves people and the human body, and wants you to get excited about the important role you will be playing in medicine as a medical transcriptionist!


Harriet R. Stewart, MT Instructor

Harriet Stewart has been a medical transcriptionist for 35 years, working in hospitals, in a service owned and operated by a group of ER physicians, in a partnership of a transcription service, and in a different partnership with another large MT company, she served in a number of positions which has allowed her to learn a great deal from jobs such as a QA reviewer, team leader, supervisor and trainer of new employees and worked with a large MT company on their Research and Development Team for speech recognition project. Harriet has her own company, "MT Innovations"” specializing in medical transcription quality and MT continuing education consulting services.

Harriet has taught medical transcription at a community college for 10 years as well as an online college for 11 years. In 1997, Harriet received AHDI's Marilyn Craddock Educator of the Year award. Harriet obtained her CMT certificate in 1983. She was bestowed the honor of Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity in 2002.

Harriet loves to read with her favorite book “Lord of The Rings” which she reads every year. She has read several series such as the Harry Potter books, a vampire huntress collection (13 books!) and the Eragon set. She loves to crochet, and most of all teach her older granddaughters how to cook, sew, and other helpful activities. She lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with her husband of 42 years, Robert along with their 3 cats.


Georgia Green, MT Instructor

Georgia Green, CMT, joined CanScribe in 2012. She has been in the MT field since the mid 1970s, when typewriters and tape recorders were the latest technology. Over her career, she has worked in hospitals, services, schools, and publishing houses, as an MT, manager, educator, author, editor, and product developer. She is active in AHDI, the professional association for MTs, and is a frequent speaker at industry meetings. Her articles have appeared in Perspectives on the Medical Transcription Profession, Advance for Health Information Professionals, and Plexus, and she has contributed content to numerous reference books, textbooks, and software products for allied health professionals. She lives in southwest Washington state with her husband, Dave, a software engineer; her Australian shepherd, Gnasher; and finicky cats, Gromit and Munchkin. She enjoys traditional Pacific Northwest activities of hiking, gardening, latte drinking, and sitting in Seattle traffic. Georgia is committed to helping others achieve their professional goals in the rapidly changing world of the healthcare documentation specialist.


Josh Arlitt, IT Supervisor

Josh Arlitt is the IT Supervisor at CanScribe. He hails from Penticton but has lived in Kelowna for several years now. He has a background in programming as well as Human-Computer Interaction. He is a firm believer that all software should be user friendly.

He is keenly interested in software development and technology in general. In his spare time he designs webpages and codes computer games. Josh would describe himself as patient and eager to help with technical problems.
